This summer I have created a Maritime bucket list: all sorts of things I want to do on my last summer (for a while) on the east coast. Fundy wasn’t even technically on the list, because we had managed to see it a couple of times over the years that we’ve lived here … but I certainly jumped at a chance to see it again when Paddy’s mom was in town to help celebrate his grad.
I was actually surprised by how well the day went: we slightly misjudged low tide and arrived at the last possible moment. We were really worried that we wouldn’t be able to walk on the ocean floor – clearly the coolest thing to do! But we ran down (even though the sign told us not to …) and managed to spend an hour and a half just chilling on an ever-shrinking section of beach, watching the ocean creep closer and closer. The shutterbugs among us had a great time photographing all sorts of rocks and shells and random green stuff, those less obsessed just enjoyed the sunshine, and we all had a great, relaxing touristy time!
You can see some more ‘pro’ quality images on my website (meganobrien.ca), but here are some of my other shots from the day.
